Why is the bar useful?

Each morning I wake up and do some form of exercise, mostly push-ups or pull ups, because British weather isn’t the best for running most of the time! I’ve found that having a pull up bar in the house is very convenient whether I’m doing a quick morning workout or doing a proper workout including the bar. Having the equipment at home helped me stay consistent with my training.

We all have lazy days or busy days when we don’t have time to go to the gym, however you have no excuses if you have the equipment at home. It will keep you on track to reach your fitness goals. So is this product worth it?

Exercises you can do with the bar

Chin ups and pull ups are very useful for building more than one muscle group at a time. Chin ups develop the latissimus dorsi muscle, the shoulders and the biceps among other muscles throughout the body. They are
important to any training routine as they can develop a lot of muscle. Pull ups focus more on the back but help strengthen the shoulders and arms to name a few.

Moreover, I do different variations of push-ups using the bar which puts less pressure on the wrists. I do the incline push up and the wide grip push up, I’ve included both in my training to build a bigger chest. I do hanging knee raises and static holds which are also very useful for overall strengthening of the core. When applied to the bottom of the doorway, the bar can be used to hold your feet in place which is useful when doing sit ups.

Assembly of the product

I found this product easy to assemble as it comes with ascrew set and instruction manual, it took me a maximum of 20 minutes to assemble. Once assembled it doesn’t have to be screwed onto a door frame, so don’t worry if you’re tall and worried that you’ll forget about it and knock your head! It can be easily stored out of the way in a cupboard when it’s not being used.

Safety and usage

Yes it’s more expensive than others of its kind, but that’s for a good reason. This bar is stronger than it looks. This product states it can hold maximum of 80kg however I’ve known people slightly heavier than that who use it. Obviously if you are a 110kg bodybuilder or athlete this bar isn’t the right option for you, as it will damage your door frame when used.

Anyone below or very close to 80kg will be safe using this equipment if the bar is applied to the door correctly. I’ve had two of these pull up bars, the first one I actually gave away and then I decided I still needed one, so I bought another. I couldn’t tell you how long this bar will last but my current one has lasted me over 4 years of consistent use, which in my eyes is a very good investment, and helped save me countless trips to the gym.

Some people have told me some screws don’t fit right or it falls off the door easily. Not to worry! I can assure you I’ve never had this problem. I can assure you the two bars I’ve purchased have been very good quality for the price you pay.
