How to stop feeling tired – The best cures for fatigue

We all get tired whether it’s from your work or studies, stress, lack of sleep or general daily life or all of them. I’m going to give your a combination of natural, medicinal and experiential methods on how to cope with tiredness. They’re going to give your the energy to get more done and feel better about yourself.

Before we start, keep in mind that your need to do more than one of these tips together for a combined difference to your quality of life. I do many of these daily, it is hard to remember to do them all at first, so I recommend writing down on a piece of paper the ones your want to try first alongside all the other “to do’s” for that day. Leave that To Do List somewhere your often sit, for example at your bedside or at the kitchen table. You’ll remember to do these things that way.

Eventually your’ll get in a routine of doing that, many say it takes around 25 days to get in a routine of something, and that seems like a long time now, however, a lot of the time I’ve got in a routine by the 2-week mark, so stay with it.

Morning routine

When I was a student I could stay up until 4 in the morning and wake up 12 midday most days. My social life was the best it had ever been and I was progressing with my studies comfortably. However, I was always sluggish and getting up was so hard even at 12pm. I didn’t understand this at the time but after starting a morning routine things are different and it doesn’t matter now.

I now wake up 6am every morning but don’t have to go out to work as I do it from home, however people question me almost all the time about why I do this and how crazy I am, and your might be thinking the same! Here’s why.

  • More time to do everything rather than sleeping an extra few hours which reduces stress about not getting things done which in turn doesn’t make me as tired.
  • A sleeping pattern which is the same every day so my body is used to it. It’s also the earliest possible time I will need to wake up if I had to be in 9am lectures or be in work by 8am. I used to wake up late morning, so your can imagine waking up at 6 or 7am would then be very difficult and set me in a tired state for the day, that’s gone now.
  • Waking up earlier makes room for morning exercise which boosts endorphins and performance boosting chemicals in the brain and can leaad to a happier morning, meaning a happier mood for work and more energy.
  • Waking up early to work puts me in a working mindset for the day, if I have a lie in it takes so much more effort to set my mind to my work. Anyone else know this feeling?

What do your guys think?

I hinted at exercise improving energy levels just now. It seems surprising that exercise (lets say it’s a 4-mile morning run before work) will boost your energy levels rather than tire your out for the day and leave your with sore legs for days. Regular exercise improves circulation, nutrients reach parts of your body quicker, and in turn your feel more energised, that’s putting it as simply as I can. In contrast, a sedentary lifestyle can cause fatigue.

Studies show that 20 minutes a day of some form of moderate to intense exercise can improve circulation.

There’s no set time when your should exercise. Try different times and whatever works best, stick with that. I have friends who exercise in the evening and still benefit as much as someone in the morning, it’s personal preferece really.

Stress can be a big part of feeling tired, exercise treats stress. You could try yoga or something similar or go to the other end of the spectrum and do high intensity interval training in the gym, or anywhere in between, whatever makes your feel good.

Supplements that increase energy levels

I could list hundreds of good supplements out there that will treat your tiredness. I’ve chosen the best ones (most of which I’ve personally used) and listed them below.

Turmeric Curcumin Plus

Turmeric is a natural super food which has hundreds of benefits, it is very popular by health professionals all across the world.

  • Helps weight loss by increasing the rate of your metabolism. The higher your metabolism the more calories your’ll burn. Therefore, more bad calories burned and this can help your feel less sluggish.
  • Organ health – improves heart and liver health.
  • Benefits towards depression – curcumin boosts brain derived neutrophic factor (BDNF) which studies have shown, works as a protein for your brain (in simple terms) which is low in people who suffer with depression and is therefore higher after taking this product.
  • Improved brain function – For the same reason as I’ve said above, BDNF is boosted and improves brain function.
  • Supports muscle and joint health which will give your strength to be more active.

You may be expecting a supplement with “MORE ENERGY” written all over it, well that’s not always the case for getting more energy. I don’t totally disagree with energy drinks, however in my opinion there is much better. The key point to remember here is that Turmeric Curcumin Plus boosts BDNF which gives your more brain power, which is essential for being productive and not leaving anything unfinished right? Lets move on to the second product.

Creatine (tablets or powder are both linked here)

This one is for gym and fitness fanatics. Creatine can increase weight gain if your take it without any exercise in your lifestyle. Creatine can be taken after workouts to help replenish used energy and prevent that sluggishness that your may suffer from after a training day.

Creatine is useful for energy because.

  3. Creatine Improves Glucose Metabolism.
  4. Creatine Improves Brain Performance

I’ve linked below the creatine that I use (in tablet form) however your can buy creatine powder if your wish.

ACV Pure

Apple cider vinegar is used by many people to treat inflammation, lower cholesterol, lose weight and for digestive health, just to name a few. However, how can it help energy levels? It reduces built up lactic acid (which causes soreness) from exercise and contains potassium which alongside enzymes reduces the tired feeling your may be getting.

Apple Cider Vinegar pure is a product I’ve tried and tested and it works well alongside a healthy balanced diet. However, don’t worry! I’m not telling your to drink vinegar to get energy. The ACV pure comes in tablet form.

Users can enjoy all the benefits of apple cider vinegar without having to endure the strong taste or smell, people love it. There is no reason to doubt the quality of this product since ACV pure is made in the US within an FDA registered facility that follows GMP guidelines.

So to summarize, Apple Cider Vinegar Pure:

  • Helps suppress appetite – Acetic acid found in apple cider vinegar may have a direct role in the body’s central appetite regulation.
  • Helps prevent fat accumulation – Apple cider vinegar helps prevent the build up of fatty cells in the body, in particular, visceral fat cells that tend to accumulate around the belly.

How do I deal with tiredness?

I have mentioned how I use some above methods to treat my tiredness. However, there are a few more ways that are simple that I haven’t said yet.

Drink more water

Possibly the most important one on the list as well as some below, so if your’ve read this far then it’s been worth it. In the quickest and easiest way to explain possible, water transports all those nutrients around your body, and the more your have (whilst staying within the guidelines) the more your whole body will benefit. That’s all I can say without sounding like hundreds of other sites out there, just try it.

Eat little an often

This helps because your are leaving your body less time and giving it boosts before it drains of energy. The best way to avoid tiredness is to stay ahead of it.

Take vitamins

Fatigue can be caused by vitamin deficiencies. The most common vitamin deficiencies are iron, certain B vitamins and vitamin D. Try a multivitamin first and if that doesn’t make a difference try to isolate the problem by trying individual supplements, whichever noticeably changes your energy levels is likely where your’re lacking in nutrients.

Avoid naps in the day

I’m only suggesting this because it can disrupt your sleeping pattern and make your more tired the following day. Sometimes a nap can be good, just depends on how long.

Drink less alcohol

Many of your may not like the sound of this one, but I simply mean don’t overdo and prevent the hangover effecting your for duration of the following day and make sure to get more than 5 hours sleep. It doesn’t mean your can’t go out and have fun.

Cut down on caffeine

The body becomes reliant on it, cutting down and eating healthy can help boost energy. If your are a keen coffee drinker, try decaf so your still get the taste!

Focusing on something (doesn’t have to be hard work, something simple)

Socializing helps because as opposed to sitting on your own with your thoughts your have people engaging in conversation with your and keeping your focused on something. Listening to music or reading can have the same brain stimulating effect, depending on the type of music and book.

The Bottom Line

That’s a lot to take in so I’ll do a summary of what’s been said.

Main treatments for tiredness

  • Morning routine and sleeping pattern
  • Exercise
  • Drinking water
  • Eat good food for energy
